Keyword 33：Construction of Gen III NPP Fleet on a Large Scale

Currently, Gen III reactors dominate the world landscape of nuclear reactor construction. China takes the lead in building Gen III reactors. Four AP1000 units and two EPR units have been built. The world’s first Hualong One (HPR1000) reactor has been connected to the grid. Another ten Hualong One units are under construction in China, and two Hualong One units are under construction in Pakistan. As of December 2020, 19 Gen III nuclear power units had been operational worldwide, of which 7 are in China; and 37 Gen III nuclear power units were under construction worldwide, of which China had 10 under construction and 2 exported to Pakistan.
